Going away for 3 weeks

27 February 2008 10:37 am

I know that I have a lot of explaining to do, hopefully someday soon :)

The only thing I can say right now is that I’m leaving for Milan for a couple of days then to Tunis for 2 weeks.

I’m not reachable on the phone, but I’ll try to call my loved one’s when I’ll be in Tunis insha’ Allah :D

Mi casa es…

… Mi casa :)

I’m back after a long week in Athens, all went well no issues at the office, no problems in or out of the office :D , if only it was 100% perfect :?

Every time I pass via Paris I have problems, this time it was no exception (I’m starting to get pessimistic :( ), Airfrance cancelled my flight from Paris to Montpellier without proposing any replacement flight, so I called the office and asked to book the 8pm train but some things just don’t come out as wanted, my trip from Athens got delayed 30-45 minutes, and in Paris they delayed the luggage 45 minutes, I was left with less than 30 minutes to reach Gare de Lyon from CDG Airport (impossible to do at 3am driving a Ferrari with diplomatic immunity) so I decided to go to a hotel and spend a night in Paris and get the first train in the morning (I really wanted to go home!!!)

Got to the station and tried to get the ticket early (just in case I woke late), it was impossibile, the queues were extremely long and the people behind the counter were rally uncooperative and unhelpful so I left thinking that at 7am it would be better.

I got to the hotel, and decided to go and have a quick bite to eat, got out searching for McDonalds or something similar and it turns out that they aren’t in that sector of the city :( (bummer) and I had to walk to Bastille to get something (I wanted something quick since I was extremely tired).

Next morning (Thanks to my guardian angel for waking me up :D ) I went to the station to get the ticket, waited in line and when my turn came up I told the lovely lady behind the counter that I had a reservation in my name, the discussion went as following;

Me : Good morning, I have a ticket reserved in my name (and hand my ID)

Her: What is your reservation code?

Me : Uhhh… I don’t have it, it’s surly in my e-mail and I don’t have access to it right now. Can you please use my name?

Her: No code no ticket, I can’t search by name!

Me : ??? But my company reserved the ticket in my name, you can search it via the computer!

Her: No! no code no ticket!

Me : OK! FINE! give me a ticket to Montpellier on the earliest possible train.

Her: [clicks on the keyboard] Not possible, there are no available seats.

There is where I lost it, she was extremely lucky that she was behind reinforced glass or I would have killed her, to make a long story short I ran around to find a hotspot and thanked GOD that I had enough battery for my laptop to get the code, ran back to the lady and give her the code and she prints out the ticket.

Anyway I’m back home since 1pm yesterday ~yay~ :D recovering and sleeping my head off ;)

11 days…

29 August 2007 5:00 pm

What can I say… They weren’t enough

I’m sorry for the theft of my stuff, I actually feel a camera, Ipod & mobile phone lighter  .On the other hand I can’t complain since I’ve stayed for 11 days!!!  ( I’m such an egoist :? )

I’m posting this from the business lounge of Carthage airport, fresh juices and some light snacks and thank God a free internet connection :)

I’ll try to post a detailed story of the theft when I’m in Rome for the night or tomorrow when I get back to Montpellier.

Miss you guys already :)

Following up…

The story is that my family found out that they need a visa to go to Tunis  , I’ve been to Tunis like almost once a month in the past 7 months, and no one I repeat no one asked for a visa (I only got stopped once going out of Tunis because they wanted to know how much money I had with me) besides they have a small desk at the entrance before the passport control, I remember going to them on my first trip asking if I needed one, and I was told no…

I’ve checked before here and everywhere else and it was always written that Saudi nationals do not need it!! You might ask why haven’t I check the Tunisian embassy website? Simple they don’t have one  I only found this and this. (don’t bother clicking on the link, it will take you to the first link that doesn’t work)

Anyhow… I’m on the sofa right now smoking a nice cool Romeo Y Julieta ;) (Alla faccia della burucrazia)

Romeo y Julieta

Just waiting for tomorrow morning so that I can take the flight and meet my family :D

Al7amdulillah :D

Finally… It’s time :)

After these few weeks, I’m happy to announce that I’m officially on HOLIDAYS!!!! ~yay~ :D

I’m leaving for Tunis on Monday (NOT work related) to meet my family at last :D . My dad and camelette and her little cockroach are going there for a week, and seeing that it’s only an hour trip away I decided to meet them. (I haven’t seen them in 6 months :? )

My family ;)

As you can see from the picture (sorry for the quality ;) ) there’s papa camel, camelette and little cockroach. My mom couldn’t make it, I really hope to see her soon :)

The other good side (100% personal) is that 2 of my colleagues are going to be there too (They are going for work obviously ;) ) and I have a whole week to pester them [Yes!! I'm a bastard inside :P ] - I’ll have to prepare a check list of the things I’m going to do to them

Yesterday! Today… Tomorow?

29 July 2007 1:24 am

Hello everyone, I’m really sorry for the lack of updates, but I managed to get my self in a tight jam. Currently I’m working on a couple of projects @ work, and one personal on the side :-?

I can’t say much regarding my work, except that I’m going to a training in Bracknell-UK soon ;) and it involves my favourite topic :P It will be my first business trip to my company’s EMEA HQ and I won’t be alone ;)

The plan was to leave the 15th and get back to Montpellier on the 18th and leave again on the 19th to Tunis. Honestly with the carbon footprint I leave behind me, I managed to change the flights to a direct flight from London to Tunis :D

On a personal level I can’t complain :)

Camelette gave me what I wanted (well almost… and ONLY after some insistance ;) ). I’m healthy as fish RAGING CAMEL, I’m trying to quit smoking for the second time in a month :? it’s REALLY not easy

AND! if all goes well, I’ll have a major update to announce soon ;) [Sorry still TOP SECRET] ;) wait for it!

A dear colleague of mine got married last week-end, and one day later another friend had his birthday (talk about coincidence :? ) anyhow, pictures are here (or will be shortly).

Oh, forgot to mention… My boss assigned me a whole country to manage  Now I wish I had political power over it so that I would start my empire

Stay tuned for more updates soon!!

Time = Tempo = Jikan

No matter in what language time is always the same.

Time management

Think about it, time is the most sought after, hated, loved, searched thing for and by everyone. Honest (I NEED MORE time, Aargh.. the minutes pass like hours,…etc…).

I’m in a pickle my self, I have a business project to start reporting on (just the thought gives me the shivers), a personal project to outline. It would have been easy if I had these 2 things to do this week, but unfortunately I’m trying to recover an unproductive week due to an IT issue that hit me last week AND handle other requests. Just to give you an idea…

“The HR database contains all the information regarding the employees (name, BD, badge ID,…) all except our Out-Sourcing Partners (since they do not work for my company directly). We have a tool that TS uses to open calls and dispatch needed parts to our customers, and about 45% of the work is handled by our OSP’s. The IT suddenly wakes up and decides to clean up the tool because there were too many account, so they decided to delete all accounts that weren’t in use in the last 30 days, too bad that they decided to delete the accounts that are not in the HR database simply because they thought that the people had left, so they started to delete accounts left and right. At the end we had a sizable chunk of the OSP workforce non functional and no way to add them back simply because no one had predicted this to happen so no-one was able to reinstate the people’s accounts :( ” — It took us 3 whole days to try and fix this.

My trip to Tunis was good :) till the last part where the Tunis-air employee decided that my E-Ticket was not valid and that I needed to check the airline’s sales office :? I went telling them that I had confirmed my flight 3-4 days earlier, so they told me that it was ok, I go back and this time the same guy tells me that the ticket was changed from an E-Ticket to Paper, I go back to the agency and tell them what I was told and thank GOD for a kind gentleman who came with me and asked a guy to handle my ticket, the guy called another guy who in turn called another guy who went to the ticket desk and asked what was wrong, the guy told him that I needed to have a paper ticket, and the new guy just pressed a few buttons and gave me my E-Ticket boarding pass

I think I lost enough time telling you these two stories… I need to get back to work — Time is running out ;)
