First Saudi Mass wedding

“Saudi Arabia holds its first mass wedding, paid for by the government to help couples who otherwise couldn’t afford a wedding celebration. More than 1,600 newlyweds were also given a two-day honeymoon, household appliances and gold for the bride.”

Saudi Arabia always had a problem related to weddings, too many women would end up single. How does the government tackle this problem?

Simple; they prohibit Saudi men from marrying any woman who is not Saudi! :?

Personally I think that this is exteremely stupid, and illigal as a human & Muslim, my religion allows me to marry any woman who is of faith (Muslim, Christian, Jewish) obviously it would be impossibile to marry a Jewish, so who’s left?

Christians…. That’s possibile, but to be honest, I don’t think that it would be simple and easy after the Danish issue!

So the men are stuck to Muslim women (NOT that they are bad or anything) but they have to be Saudi!!!

– I’ll continue this in another post :(

What Every non Arab Should Know About the Middle East

1 April 2008 10:22 am

The middle east

A GREAT post by Daniel Miessler who is trying to shed some light on the middle east in terms of the difference between Sunni and Shia’ Muslims and Arabs and non Arabs.

Personally I couldn’t have done better, maybe some slight modifications (simply because I believe that we need to improve in everything) :)

Some replies show the extent of the stupidity of some people (being Americans or not)

On the road to

4 December 2007 2:52 pm

I never thought that getting married was such a hassle!

A couple of posts back I said that it wasn’t that hard (actually it’s not) but it’s really time consuming.

I had to get a certificate stating that I’m a Muslim from the Tunisian mufty (I liked him :) ) the process got a bit on my nerve but that was caused by the mufty’s secretary (I hated him :( ). I wonder what should I do with that piece of paper, will it take me into heaven? or am I exempted from praying? I don’t mean to insult my religion or anyone, but I’m a but shocked that a paper exists stating that one is a Muslim or not!. If a person becomes a Muslim in Morocco and converts back in his home in Europe would that be OK? is he still a Muslim in Morocco?  - politics!!!

My fiancée is currently running around to get all the needed papers and approvals (God help her with the bureaucracy and shield her from the stupid/ignorant government employees) so that we can translate them and start the procedures in Italy. (below you’ll see a picture of her taken in a brief instant running between the various offices)

A brief glimps

Wish her and my self luck…  We have a lot of things to do :)

Welcome back :D

Finally you’re here :D

Ramadan

I’m happy that you came, you’ll help me to quit that stupid habit, and purify my self :)

Even if I’m over 5000km away from my family (1200km from my sweetheart) I still happy :)

Believe  it or not I do miss having iftar with my family and loved ones :(

Iftar

(I miss the special food that is cooked and prepared for the holy month)

And I miss the special TV programs that they start to show during the month

Tv programs in Ramadan

But I really hate it when the whole country changes it’s habits and the people become vampires  (sleeping the day and eating till they pop at night). Honestly the holy month of Ramadan is to suffer the pain and hardships that other less fortunate pass everyday (not counting all the other benefits that God promised us as well). I really tasted hunger I worked regular hours with non muslims (eating and smoking and drinking the whole day long) but when I get back home and the sun sets and eat that first date… I feel it’s real taste (even the water is sweet  )

So happy RAMADAN to all :D

This is what I read today here

Saudis hold five religious police

Map

Five members of the Saudi religious police, the Mutawaeen, have been
arrested accused of being responsible for the death of a man in
custody.

The man died at a Mutawaeen office in Tabuk, the Saudi authorities say.

Officials said the man had been questioned for allegedly associating with a woman who was not a relative.

It is the latest in a series of abuse allegations
levelled against members of the Mutawaeen, whose task is to enforce a
strict Islamic moral code.

Many Saudis have accused them of being overzealous in the pursuit of their duties.

The man, who has not been named, died on Friday in the north-eastern city.

Saudi press reports say police are also investigating
the death of an Asian woman who fell from the fourth floor of a
building that was stormed by Mutawaeen last week.

A year ago, the government decreed that Mutawaeen could
not interrogate detained suspects, as they had previously done, but
must immediately hand them over to regular police.

I hope that they get the death sentence for this.

French cartoons editor acquitted

The trial was seen as a test of the boundaries of free speech in France

The editor of a satirical French magazine accused of insulting
Muslims by reprinting cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad has been
acquitted.

A French court has ruled in favour of weekly Charlie
Hebdo, rejecting accusations by Islamic groups who said it incited
hatred against Muslims.

The cartoons were covered by freedom of expression laws and were not an attack on Islam, but fundamentalists, it said.

The case was seen as an important test for freedom of expression in France.

Applause broke out in the courtroom at the announcement
of the verdict, which ruled that the three cartoons published in
February 2006 were not insulting to the Muslim community, the AFP news
agency reports.

Editor Philippe Val had rejected the allegations, saying the cartoons were not an attack on Muslims, but on terrorists.

He said the ruling was a victory for secular French Muslims.

“This debate was necessary,” he said.

The case had been brought by the Grand Mosque of Paris and the Union of French Islamic Organisations.

Taboo depiction

At a two-day trial last month, Mr Val said he had
published the cartoons - which first appeared in Denmark in September
2005 - to denounce terrorism.

Mr Val, the executive editor of the publication, was
facing a maximum fine of nearly 30,000 euros (£20,000; $40,000) and a
jail sentence of up to six months.

Depictions of the human form are generally taboo in Islam.

The cartoons, including one of the Prophet Muhammad with
a headdress in the form of a bomb, triggered riots in some Muslim
countries.

Come on!!! How can people be so STUPID?!! We’re in the 21st century!!! :-x

Mitsuchi sent me a fantastic site that tells the story of our beloved prophet.

Please share the link with other people so that they can know Mohammed (PBUH) a little better :)
